Abstract: Chronic kidney disease is the subject of heated debate in literature at the moment. The current study used a Kidney Disease and Quality of Life ™ Short Form 13 (KDQOL-SF ™) questionnaire made by RAND and the University of Arizona to observe the particularities of dialysis patients in Romania. The study was conducted between March 2016 and August 2016 on a group of patients who performed hemodialysis in the Fresenius Braşov Dialysis Center in 200 cases. The results of this study show that the most common age for responders is 61 years with a maximum dialysis time of 23.5 years. Most respondents said the overall health status is roughly the same as a year ago, but a high percentage of 39.8% say their health is worse or even worse than a year ago. Thus, an impairment of the quality of life is observed especially in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis.
