Abstract: Cholera is a fecally-orally transmitted infection, produced by Vibrio cholerae, which may develop asymptomatically, in mild or severe form, at which time it may cause massive dehydration followed by death within a few hours of onset. Taking this into consideration this sometimes fatal outcome, the administration indication of the three currently available vaccines include those at high risk of exposure, those who travel or live in a long-term cholera-affected area, and healthcare professionals, epidemic management workers of cholera or people with certain risk factors.
