Abstract: | The objective of this paper is to implement the concept of Internet of Things (IoT), this process will be done by adding relative low-cost technology like raspberry Pi, with biometric security identification and authentication devices to a locking mechanism. The result will be a “smart” locking mechanism that can be attached on an entry door, office drawers, office door and much more. The device will grant entry base on biometric identification. This will be possible by analyzing trends in the cost of technology, specifying the project requirements then developing, evaluating and prototyping a suitable solution. Finding and understand the key factors that are influencing the concept of IoT. This will be achieved by analyzing, evaluating and prototyping possible solutions to implement IoT in remote access locking mechanisms. |
