Abstract: | To analyze the working possibilities of power-split infinitely variable transmissions
(IVTs) it is necessary to follow a systematic approach. The method proposed in this paper
consists of generating a block diagram of the transmission and then, based on this diagram, to
derive the kinematics and dynamics equations of the transmission. For an actual numerical
case, the derived equations are used to find characteristic values of the transmission
components (gear and chain drives, planetary units) necessary to calculate the speed ratios, the speeds, torques and powers acting on the shafts and coupling (control) elements, and even to estimate the overall efficiency of the transmission. |
