Abstract: In this paper a powered therapeutic device for rehabilitation exercises of the ankle is presented. Basic of kinetotherapy as a component of rehabilitation are emphasized and than a comparative study of different devices for active or passive motion of the lower limb is done. Some details regarding the biomechanics of the ankle joint are given. The principle of operation of the proposed system is described. The motor unit of the exerciser consists of a tethraedical module. The specific features of this system are presented.
